Welcome to the Minority Stress Lab!

Minority groups are susceptible to minority stress, or the stress above and beyond general stress that all people encounter. Our research focuses on understanding how these minority stressors are associated with general and vocational well-being outcomes among minority groups. Our projects largely center around experiences of discrimination based on being a member of a minority group(s) such as sexual or racial and ethnic minorities. We examine the psychosocial factors that help to buffer minority stress under various contexts, and how minority stress can present itself as physical and mental health disparities.
